Surfactants
AMILITE – anionic surfactant
Amilite is vailable in two versions: the Glycine-ty[e (GCK and GCS) which is produced from glycine and fatty acid, and the DL alanine type (ACT) which is produced from DL Alanine and fatty acid. Amilite provides creamy foam and maintains high foaming power even in the presence of oil.
AMINOSOAP
Aminisoap is a plant derived amino acid soap consisting of L-Arginine and coconut oil derived fatty acid. Thanks to the hypoallergenic characteristics of L-Arginine, Aminosoap helps enhance the safety of ordinary fatty acid soaps. Foamy and quickly rinsed amino soap leaves the skin feeling clarified even in the presence of oil.
AMISOFT – Amino acid anionic surfactant
Amisoft(Acylglutamate) is a line of anionic surfactants derived from the amino acid L-Glutamic acid and natural fatty acids. Weakly acidic – much like the skin itself – Amisoft leaves the skin moisturized and elastic. Available in a number of forms, including potassium salt, sodium salt and acid.
CAE is an amino acid cationic surfactants derived from the amino acid L-Arginin, DL-Pyrrolidone Carboxylate, fatty acid and other ingredients. Because it attaches to hair CAE functions as a rinse base. Despite being a cationic surfactants CAE is also characterized by high biodegradability.
Emollients
ELDEW – This is an emollient derived from glutamic acid, natural fatty acid, higher alcohol and phytosterol or cholesterol. Ajinomoto’s research has confirmed that Eldew forms lamella liquid crystals identical to ceramide. As a result Eldew, a ceramide like amino acid derivative, yields emollient efficacy comparable to that of ceramide. Eldew improves the ‘‘feel’’ of a wide range of products.
Functional Powders
AMIHOPE – This is a functional powder derived from L-Lysine and fatty acid and featuring hexagonal plate like crystals which are insoluble in water or oil. In addition to offering high lubricity and a silky touch Amihope attaches to the surface of inorganic powder, contributes water repellence and increases fluidity thereby improving overall surface quality.
AJIDEW ZN-100 – the zinc salt of L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylate (Zinc PCA), is part of Ajinomoto’s line of nature based functional ingredients. With the combination of Zinc and Natural Factor it reduces excess sebum leaving skin feeling clean and refreshed.
Humectants
AJIDEW – Ajidew is DL-Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid (PCA) and it is sodium salt derived from L-Glutamic acid. Provides excellent moisture absorption and retention. Also features strong anti-static properties for hair care products.
AQUADEW is an anionic high molecular weight humectant derived from Aspartic Acid. Superior to other high molecular weight humectants in it’s hygroscopic properties as well as it’s moisturizing efficacy Aquadew has an affinity with skin so strong it can be felt. Aquadew leaves the skin feeling moist, smooth to the touch and completely unsticky.
In addition to moisturizing hair and increasing manageability Aquadew protects cuticles and helps prevent hair loss and splitting.
PRODEW – Prodew is a formulated humectant consisting of the natural moisturizing factors of L-Proline, Na-PCA, Sorbitol, Sodium Lactate and Hydrolyzed Protein. High moisture attraction and retention capabilities.

SMECTITE & BENTONITE BASED ADDITIVES
Southern Clay Products/Rockwell Additives has developed several product lines that can be used to formulate unique and superior consumer care products. The primary function of these clay additives is rheological control. Dispensing viscosity and flow properties can be customized by using one of these clay additives in formulation. These products provide unique rheology without the ropiness or tackiness often encountered with gums or other stabilization and solids suspension.
Mineral Colloid
The mineral Colloid range is produced from selectively mined bentonite deposits that have been identified for their specific properties.
These products have very high water viscosities have good synergy with gums and other co-thickeners. Very effective in water-based
formulations that require high viscosity and an unusually low pH.
Claytone
The Claytone range is produced from natural sodium bentonite. Claytone products are ‘‘organically modified’’ clays that are produced by reacting organic cations, such as quaternary ammonium chloride with refined smectite. The reaction changes the nature of the flay from hydrophilic of oleophillic. Claytone products are suited for providing various rheological characteristics to solvent-based or oil based formulations.
Bentolite
Bentolite products are ideal for applications that are cost sensitive. They are suited for less viscous water-based formulations that require suspension and stability control. Produced from two of the world�s most pure bentonite deposits.
Gelwhite
Produced from bentonite that is mined from some of the whitest deposits in the world. The mined bentonite is subjected to a proprietary
wet refining process that removes all natural contamination to produce and extremely pure ‘‘refined’’ smectite.
Gelwhite products
are suited for water-based formulations that are color sensitive and that require raw materials to be monograph compliant.

Aliginated Soft Beads
Soft beads (200 micron-5mm) formed using a natural aliginate matrix. Easily crushed with little remaining material. Widely used for decoration and visual appeal for packaging. Can deliver additives such as powders, pigments sunscreens, skin emollients, hair conditioners. Oils of all kinds can be incorporated into the alginate beads at loadings at 10-30 wt%.
